I recorded this album over the past month or so.

I was really inspired to make this album after one day when I was walking my dog i looked up and saw the the tree that is on the cover. It's dead leaves and skeletal form contrasted with the nice blue of the sky and it really struck me as beautiful. I wanted to make an album that made me feel how that sight made me feel.

I was very influenced by the transition of fall into winter in the making of this album. Fall grows and blooms into this beautiful swarm of all these oranges and yellows and its gorgeous and then suddenly all the leaves fall off and the world is dead. Yet there is still a slight remain of the magical luxury of fall.

I tried to experiment with the actual formation or whatever of the songs, forming a lot of them through the manipulation of samples and actual instruments. I wrote a lot of the songs on my piano but also on garageband on my phone, taking small snippets of sounds and forming melodies from them. And I think it's amazing how you can do that now with computer, form a whole song from a single piano note. So I tried to do exactly that, or at least the idea behind that.

Anyways, I am very proud of this album and how it all turned out. I think I learned a lot about writing music in the creation of this album too. So that's cool.
